Burlington SI Argyle
HOME OF THE ORIGINAL ARGYLE SOCKS

A prime example of modern tradition: Argyle.

The original Argyle is characterised by its typical diamond pattern, which is crossed by so-called super-diamonds, turning it into an unmistakable three-dimensional look. The typical Burlington pattern has, to date, become a real icon amongst the available styles and, as a modern classic, represents what is often referred to as a timeless style.

Setting trends since 1658.

The Argyle pattern is not a novel fashion invention created in a studio. Its origin actually dates back to the 16th century and is based on a true story. In a Scottish county called Argyllshire, which was also home to the Duke of Argyll, the classic Tartan pattern symbolised the belonging to a Scottish clan. With the Campbells of Argyll, the most powerful of all clans, the pattern became popular as a sock design. A story of success was hence born.

Socks that keep up with the times.

The Burlington brand rediscovered the Argyle pattern from the 1970s onwards as a concise sock pattern. Through a variety of colours, creative and individual designs as well as limited seasonal collections, Burlington succeeds in reinventing the classic Argyle pattern again and again, but without losing the original design. Exclusive socks from Burlington are a unique fashion statement, which can be recognised by the original Burlington clip. As well as the attention they command.
